Agence IntExt and our role
Who is Agence IntExt?
Agence IntExt is the brand of Erick DELAHAIE, an Independent Business Manager (VDI Mandataire) based in Fréjus. We advise private and professional customers in the Var and the west of the Alpes-Maritimes on their energy renovation and building projects, and we represent qualified, insured partner companies under mandate, which carry out the works. Find out more.
Are you a public body?
No. Agence IntExt is a private business. It is not affiliated with the France Rénov’ public service or with Anah. For neutral, free public advice you can also contact the France Rénov’ advice centre in your area.
Who carries out the works?
Agence IntExt advises, studies and coordinates your project, but does not carry out the works itself and does not hold RGE, QualiPV or QualiPAC qualifications. The installation is entrusted to independent partner companies, selected for their qualifications and their ten-year (décennale) insurance. Their certificates can be provided before you sign anything.
Who signs the quote and provides the ten-year guarantee?
The quote and the works contract are drawn up by the partner company that carries out the installation: it provides its guarantees and its ten-year insurance. Its name, qualifications and insurance appear on the proposal, before any commitment.
How do you choose your partner companies?
We check their registration, their insurance certificates (ten-year and professional liability) and their qualifications in the official directories before working with them. We favour established companies with a good reputation that are able to provide follow-up after the works.
Where do you work?
In the Var and the west of the Alpes-Maritimes. See the Service area page to check your commune.
Your project, step by step
How does a project with you work?
Our approach is the same for every project. You describe your project (online pre-study or call), then we arrange a first appointment at your home, free and without obligation. It must take place on site and in your presence: we analyse your bills and consumption, examine your home and equipment (roof, electrical installation, heating…), compare the solutions with you and, if the project makes sense, present the partner installer’s detailed offer. You can sign at this appointment or take time to think; after signing, you have the legal 14-day withdrawal period. The partner installer then carries out a check visit and starts the formalities (town hall, grid connection, any financial aid, financing if needed): if an essential approval is refused, the project is cancelled. Once all approvals are obtained, it carries out the installation and checks (Consuel certificate and commissioning for solar), then provides after-sales service under the guarantees. We remain your contact throughout the project.
Is the pre-study free and without obligation?
Yes. It consists of analysing the information provided to check the feasibility of your project and propose the most suitable next step, sometimes the advice not to go ahead. Request my pre-study.
How long does the online form take?
Usually less than 2 minutes. You can answer “I don’t know” to most technical questions.
What happens after I send my request?
An adviser analyses your request and then contacts you, by phone if you have agreed to it, by email otherwise.
Why are there no prices on the website?
Because the cost of a project depends on your home, the equipment, the installation constraints and the formalities. A price shown without a visit would necessarily be approximate. The proposal is drawn up after the study.
Do I have time to think before signing?
Yes. You can sign at the first appointment if your mind is made up, or take time to think: there is no pressure. And for a contract signed at your home, French law gives you 14 days to change your mind (right of withdrawal).
Should I compare several quotes?
It is good practice. Compare detailed quotes (brands, models, ratings, formalities included, guarantees), not just a total price.
Solar panels
Is my house suitable for solar panels?
It depends mainly on the orientation and pitch of the roof, shading, the condition of the roof covering, the space available and your commune’s planning rules. The pre-study and then the on-site study check this.
How much does an installation produce in the Var?
Around 1,300 to 1,500 kWh per installed kWp per year for a well-oriented roof, depending on orientation, pitch and shading. The study of your project gives an estimate specific to your roof.
Self-consumption or total resale: what is the difference?
With self-consumption, you use your own output directly and, if you wish, sell the surplus. With total resale, all output goes to the grid and you keep buying all your electricity. The purchase contract usually runs for 20 years: this choice must be explained to you in writing before you sign.
Will I become completely self-sufficient?
In the vast majority of grid-connected homes, no: at night, in winter and on cloudy days, you will still buy electricity. An installation sized from your actual consumption greatly reduces these purchases. Be wary of any promise of a “zero bill”.
Physical battery or virtual battery?
A physical battery stores energy at home for the evening (an additional investment). A virtual battery records your surplus to give it back later, for a subscription and, depending on the offer, charges on the energy returned. Which one makes sense depends on your consumption: we compare the options with you.
What formalities are needed?
Generally: a prior declaration of works at the town hall, the electrical compliance certificate (Consuel), the grid connection request to Enedis and, if you sell your surplus, the purchase contract. The quote must state which ones are included.
Is VAT reduced on solar panels?
A 5.5% rate can apply in France to installations of up to 9 kWp on a home, subject to technical conditions (low-carbon panels, energy management system…). The conditions are checked at the date of the quote. Read our news item.
How can I monitor my panels’ output?
With a monitoring app, set up at commissioning. Before installation, ask which solution is planned and who will help you if there is a problem: otherwise a drop in output can go unnoticed for months.
Does the roof need redoing before installation?
Not always, but a roof in poor condition must be repaired first: removing the panels later is expensive. The on-site study checks the condition of the roof covering and structure.
Heat pumps and air conditioning
Is a heat pump suitable for my home?
It depends on the insulation, heating needs, existing emitters (radiators, underfloor heating) and the space available for the outdoor unit. In a very poorly insulated home, it is often wiser to insulate first.
What is the difference between reversible air conditioning and a heat pump?
Reversible air conditioning is an air-to-air heat pump: it cools in summer and heats in the shoulder seasons or as a back-up. An air-to-water heat pump heats the water in your radiators or underfloor heating, and often your hot water.
Is maintenance compulsory?
Yes for heat pumps from 4 to 70 kW: servicing by a professional is compulsory every two years in France. Regular servicing is advisable for any air conditioning anyway, for the unit’s performance and lifespan.
Is the outdoor unit noisy?
It makes an operating noise that varies between models. Its location is chosen to limit any nuisance, for you and your neighbours. In a condominium or on a visible facade, permission may be needed.
What about refrigerants?
European regulations are gradually reducing the use of refrigerants with a high climate impact. Equipment already installed can continue to operate. Read our news item.
Insulation and renovation works
In what order should the works be done?
The right order is generally to reduce needs first (insulation, solar protection), then equip the home (heating, cooling), and finally produce part of the energy (solar). For building works: the roof before the panels, services before finishes.
What renovation works do you offer?
Electrics, plumbing, floors and coverings, walls and partitions, bathroom and kitchen, waterproofing, roofing, facade renovation, terraces and pools, carried out by partner companies. See all works.
Is planning permission needed?
Often, as soon as the exterior appearance changes (panels, facade, external insulation, visible outdoor unit): a prior declaration at the town hall is generally required, with stricter rules near a listed monument. In a condominium, the general meeting’s approval may also be needed.
Financial aid and funding
Is financial aid guaranteed?
No. Whether aid exists, its amount and your eligibility depend on your situation, the project and the schemes in force at the time of the study. Be wary of any offer guaranteeing aid or an installation at a token price.
Why does the RGE qualification matter?
Most public grants for energy renovation require the works to be carried out by a company with the RGE qualification for the works concerned. That is why we work with qualified partners, whose qualification you can check in the official France Rénov’ directory.
Do you offer financing?
We can guide you on financing questions during the study appointment at your home. A loan commits you and must be repaid: check that you can afford the repayments before committing.
Sales approaches and existing installations
How can I avoid scams?
Be wary of unsolicited approaches, pressure to sign the same day, promises of total self-sufficiency or guaranteed grants, and quotes without a visit. Check the company (SIREN number, years in business, qualifications, ten-year insurance), for example on www.pappers.fr or www.societe.com. Read our advice on choosing your installer.
Will I be cold-called?
No. We call you only if you have explicitly agreed, about your request. You can withdraw this agreement at any time.
My existing installation has problems: can you help?
Yes, even if it was fitted by another company: disappointing output, an app that no longer works, an unreachable installer, doubts about the installation or a plan to upgrade (battery, extension). We review the situation and, if work is needed, it is carried out by a qualified partner company. Request a callback.
My installer has disappeared: what should I do?
Gather your invoices and the ten-year insurance certificate: the ten-year guarantee can in principle still be claimed from the insurer for 10 years after handover, even if the company has gone. Manufacturers’ warranties (panels, inverter, battery) remain valid.
Your personal data
Is my data passed to other companies?
It is used by Agence IntExt to process your request and is never sold. The technical providers that host it are listed in the privacy policy.
How long is it kept?
For as long as needed to process your request, after which it is deleted according to the periods stated in the privacy policy.
How do I withdraw my consent?
From the Withdraw consent page, by email or by phone.
Companies and partners
Can my company become a partner?
Yes: installers, tradespeople, manufacturers and distributors, in France or elsewhere in Europe, can present their business. Each application involves a discussion and checks (registration, insurance, qualifications) before any mandate contract is signed. Become a partner.
Do you support business projects?
Yes, notably for solar investment on buildings and car-park canopies. Solar investment.
A question about your project?
An adviser will answer you, with no commitment and no sales pressure.
