In the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes, the terrace is a real living space. We help you choose the material suited to the climate, exposure and use, and have the terrace built by partner companies.
The works covered
- Wood or composite decking on joists or pedestals
- Tiled or stone terraces on a concrete slab
- Slabs on pedestals above waterproofing
- Surroundings: steps, edging, drainage
What we check before the works
- The type of ground and rainwater run-off
- The height of the terrace above the ground
- Sun exposure and the desired level of maintenance
Regulations and good practice
- A ground-level terrace generally needs no permission; if raised, it may require a prior declaration or a permit depending on its height and area, and the local plan may set specific rules.
- Above a living room, the terrace sits on waterproofing carried out according to good practice.
These general rules are confirmed for each project, depending on your home, your commune and the regulations in force at the time of the study.
How does your project work?
- Your request and the appointmentYou describe your project online (pre-study) or by phone. With your agreement, the adviser calls you back to arrange an appointment at your home.
- The full on-site study, free and with no obligationIn your presence: review of the existing situation, access constraints and the technical points of the planned works. If the project makes sense, the adviser presents the partner installer’s detailed offer.
- Time to decideYou can sign at the appointment or take time to think. Once you have agreed, you have the legal 14-day withdrawal period.
- The partner installer’s check visitAfter the withdrawal period, the partner installer visits the site in turn to confirm all the technical points.
- Formalities and any financial aidPlanning or condominium permissions if the works require them, any financial aid and, if needed, a financing application. If an essential approval is refused, the project is cancelled.
- Installation, checks and after-sales serviceOnce all approvals have been obtained, the works are carried out by a qualified partner company with ten-year insurance, then checked with you at handover. The partner installer then provides after-sales service under its own guarantees and those of the manufacturers.
What influences the cost
We do not give prices without a visit: every job is different. The main factors that change the quote are:
- The area and the material chosen
- The structure (pedestals, joists, concrete slab)
- Site access and ground preparation
Who carries out the installation? Agence IntExt, an Independent Business Manager (VDI Mandataire), advises you, studies your project and coordinates its delivery. The Agency does not carry out the works itself: the installation is entrusted to independent partner installers, selected for their qualifications (RGE, QualiPV, QualiPAC… depending on the solution) and their ten-year (décennale) insurance, so that the installation complies with the standards and regulations in force.
Frequently asked questions
Wood or composite?
Wood looks natural but needs regular maintenance; composite is more stable over time. The choice depends on exposure, budget and use.
Is permission needed for a terrace?
Generally not for a ground-level terrace; for a raised terrace, the formality depends on its height and area. We check this with you.
