Cracks, peeling render, a blackened facade: facade renovation protects the walls and adds value to the building. It is also the right time to consider external wall insulation.
The works covered
- Facade cleaning and treatment
- Crack repair and render restoration
- Full renovation: render, paint, waterproof coating
- Combined external wall insulation (EWI)
What we check before the works
- The cause of the cracks and the condition of the substrates
- The commune’s rules (colours, materials, protected area)
- Whether external insulation is worthwhile
Regulations and good practice
- Depending on the commune and the area, facade renovation may require a prior declaration; some communes require facades to be renovated at regular intervals.
- For major facade renovation, the regulations in principle require thermal insulation to be considered, with exceptions (technical, architectural or economic impossibility).
These general rules are confirmed for each project, depending on your home, your commune and the regulations in force at the time of the study.
How does your project work?
- Your request and the appointmentYou describe your project online (pre-study) or by phone. With your agreement, the adviser calls you back to arrange an appointment at your home.
- The full on-site study, free and with no obligationIn your presence: review of the existing situation, access constraints and the technical points of the planned works. If the project makes sense, the adviser presents the partner installer’s detailed offer.
- Time to decideYou can sign at the appointment or take time to think. Once you have agreed, you have the legal 14-day withdrawal period.
- The partner installer’s check visitAfter the withdrawal period, the partner installer visits the site in turn to confirm all the technical points.
- Formalities and any financial aidPlanning or condominium permissions if the works require them, any financial aid and, if needed, a financing application. If an essential approval is refused, the project is cancelled.
- Installation, checks and after-sales serviceOnce all approvals have been obtained, the works are carried out by a qualified partner company with ten-year insurance, then checked with you at handover. The partner installer then provides after-sales service under its own guarantees and those of the manufacturers.
What influences the cost
We do not give prices without a visit: every job is different. The main factors that change the quote are:
- The facade area and building height (scaffolding)
- The condition of the render and the cracks
- The finish chosen and any insulation
Who carries out the installation? Agence IntExt, an Independent Business Manager (VDI Mandataire), advises you, studies your project and coordinates its delivery. The Agency does not carry out the works itself: the installation is entrusted to independent partner installers, selected for their qualifications (RGE, QualiPV, QualiPAC… depending on the solution) and their ten-year (décennale) insurance, so that the installation complies with the standards and regulations in force.
Frequently asked questions
Is permission needed to repaint a facade?
It depends on the commune: the town hall states whether a prior declaration is needed and which colours are allowed. We check this before the works.
Can external insulation be added during the renovation?
Yes, it is often the most relevant time, as the scaffolding is already in place. Benefit and feasibility are studied case by case.
